SCHOLASTIC AREAS

Assessment and Evaluation

The academic year is divided into three terms:

  • Term I: June to August
  • Term II: September to December
  • Term III: January to March

The assessment system is designed to ensure continuous and comprehensive evaluation of students' academic progress and overall development. The assessment pattern for Class IX is aligned with the Class X Board Examination guidelines.

Classes I – V

Students are assessed through:

  • Worksheets
  • Class Tests
  • Assignments
  • Terminal Examinations

Classes VI – VII

Assessment comprises:

  • Mid-Term Examinations
  • Internal Assessments
  • Terminal Examinations

Assessment Structure (100 Marks):

  • Periodic Assessment – 20 Marks
  • Terminal Examination – 80 Marks

Periodic Assessment includes:

  • Periodic Test – 10 Marks
  • Notebook Submission – 5 Marks
  • Subject Enrichment Activities – 5 Marks

In addition to scholastic assessment, students are evaluated in co-curricular areas such as:

  • Work Education
  • Art Education
  • Health and Physical Education

Students are also assessed for discipline based on attendance, punctuality, sincerity, behaviour, and adherence to school values.

Classes VIII, XI & XII

Assessment includes:

  • Mid-Term Examinations
  • Internal Assessments
  • Terminal Examinations
  • Model Examinations

The performance in model examinations and terminal examinations helps students prepare effectively for higher academic challenges and board examinations.

Promotion Criteria for Class XI

Promotion from Class XI to Class XII will be granted only to those students who secure a minimum of 50% marks in each subject in the Annual Examination.

For subjects involving practical work, students must obtain the prescribed pass marks separately in both:

  • Theory Examination
  • Practical Examination

Failure to secure pass marks in either component will render the student ineligible for promotion.

CO-SCHOLASTIC AREAS

Education extends beyond academics. At Blooming Buds Bethania, we believe that every child possesses unique talents and abilities that can be nurtured through active participation in co-scholastic activities. Success is not measured merely by winning but by the willingness to participate, learn, and grow through experience.

In accordance with the objectives of the National Education Policy, the school places great emphasis on sports, arts, cultural activities, and life skills development. Every student from Classes VI to XII is encouraged to pursue a hobby and become an active member of a club based on their interests and talents.

House System

To foster leadership qualities, team spirit, discipline, loyalty, and healthy competition, students are grouped into four houses:

  • Emerald House
  • Ruby House
  • Sapphire House
  • Topaz House

Various inter-house competitions are organized throughout the academic year to provide opportunities for students to showcase their talents and develop confidence.

Co-Scholastic Activities

The school offers a wide range of activities including:
