“The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step” – Lao Tzu1.

1. One such esteemed institution began its journey 25 years back in 1997 as Blooming Buds Bethania Senior Secondary School. In 2000, the school was shifted to the current premises. This journey of 25 years has not been an easy road. Nevertheless, the school led by visionary leaders and dedicated staff withstood all those challenges. Be it the school has never stopped shaping the minds of thousands of students who have passed out of this school. It’s a privilege for me as a Principal that I’m leading this esteemed institution in its 25th year. The school was granted secondary and senior secondary school affiliation between 1999 and 2003. The school released its first AISSE batch in 2003 as well as first AISSCE batch, in 2005. The school was certified ISO 9001- 2008 in the year 2010 and recertification as ISO 9001- 2015 in the year 2016.

Rev Fr Mathai OIC had named the school – Rev Fr Solomon OIC had been Manager for a quite long time. Rev Fr Gheevarghese OIC was the manager for the pretty good time. Rev. Fr. Benjamin O.I.C administered the school for a year and has been on the chair as Manager for the past two years. Suguna mam, Kuriyan sir, Lalitha mam, Remabai mam were the former principals of the school. Mrs Sathidevi Rajagopal was the vice principal since the inception. Padmini teacher rendered her service as administrator for a period of time. Kindergarten block was blessed by BAVA THIRUMENI, and inaugurated by AC Moideen, the present MLA ,kunnamkulam constituency. The extension block which holds physics, chemistry and biology labs was inaugurated by the then honourable minister Shri Adoor Prakash .Occasionally HIS GRACE MATHEWS MAR THEODOSIUS METROPOLITAN and HIS GRACE PAULOSE MAR PACCOMIUS, HIS GRACE CYRIL MAR BASELIUS, graced our school to motivate and instill good thoughts in to children and I, owe my humble pranams to all the dignitaries who had been the architects in the bethanian educational journey, when we stand proudly in the quadrancentinnal celebrations.

3. Some people dream of success while others make it happen. I am ecstatic to share the marvelous results with you today. 7. Techonology will not replaced greate teachers but technology in the great teachers can be transformational. You will all agree with me that the last 2 years have become years of no comparison. Like every other school, Blooming Buds Bethania also continued its journey of learning. It was asthough we moved fast forward into the future, in the world of online and hybrid education. Assemblies, celebration of special days, everything moved swiftly to the virtual platform. Centre of all this were our teachers who like true superheroes adapted to the new circumstances. They unlearned what they knew and relearned new skills. Today, they are catering to the needs of both online and onsite students simultaneously. Lighter subjects such as Karate, Physical Education, Computer Science, Craft, art and library was incorporated in the online schedule, this year. Launch of digital library was done to bring in massive interest and upswing in children to fuel their imagination.

8. Where the pandemic limited the movements to the four walls of homes, our students went beyond the impossible and entered the phase of inquiry-based learning. Project@2021, the Project based learning program gave students an authentic learning experience that helped them to develop 21st century learning skills – Critical Thinking, Collaboration, Creativity and Communication. They collaborated and brainstormed to select their driving questions. Most of the teachers had undergone CBSE 50 HOURS of training in live sessions. Augmented Reality classes was introduced in this academic year. Augmented Reality is a technology that combines virtual Reality with the real world.  THE School has received license for it and our teachers have embraced it in their online sessions. This year our school was a host for Covid First Line Treatment Centres as part of community reach out program in the challenging times of pandemic.

Amidst the pandemic, reopening of the school kept extending but we were very happy to receive an exam centre for std x and xii for cbse term 1examination after 14 years. It was a pride moment and we also had two more schools joining us for the same. The tabulation policy which was introduced by cbse this year was taken up with great enthusiasm for std X & XII.

There can be no real achievement without any struggle.
